1/26/2023 – CELEBRITY CRUISES announced that the co-captains for the new Celebrity Ascent, set to debut on December 2023, will be two brothers: Dimitrios Kafetzis and Tasos Kafetzis! The brothers have over 50 years combined experience captaining Celebrity ships. Captain Dimitrios said “Together, my brother and I share a love of the ocean and a love for this company and our guests. To share a special moment together like this is something I could have only dreamed of. ” The Celebrity Ascent is an Edge-class ship currently constructed in western France. If you have a trip departing from PORT MIAMI, the cruise line has advised that you plan extra time to navigate the port due to heavy construction currently underway. Royal Caribbean is currently offering a complimentary shuttle service from Terminal A to several parking lots in the area.
