1/26/2023 – CELEBRITY CRUISES announced that the co-captains for the new Celebrity Ascent, set to debut on December 2023, will be two brothers: Dimitrios Kafetzis and Tasos Kafetzis! The brothers have over 50 years combined experience captaining Celebrity ships. Captain Dimitrios said “Together, my brother and I share a love of the ocean and a love for this company and our guests. To share a special moment together like this is something I could have only dreamed of. ” The Celebrity Ascent is an Edge-class ship currently constructed in western France.
