11/10/2022 – The MSC WORLD EUROPA has officially made its first voyage – docking in Doha, Qatar, where it will be used as a floating hotel for the 2022 World Cup. The tournament kicks off in ten days and the ship will accommodate nearly 7,000 fans. The 22 decks of the ship were commissioned in honor of this being the 22nd edition of the World Cup. 11/10/2022 – The sale of THE MIRAGE in Las Vegas from MGM to Hard Rock is expected to go through before the end of the year. Despite the new ownership, already booked stays and comps will be honored. Additionally, Hard Rock Las Vegas, President Joe Lupo stated, “The Resort Casino will be implementing Hard Rock’s Unity Rewards.” And yes, this does mark the end of the famous volcano feature of the Mirage, which will be replaced by a Guitar Hotel. 11/10/2022 – TROPICAL STORM NICOLE made landfall and forced the closures of major ports across the state. After itinerary changes to many currently sailing cruises, Royal Caribbean meteorologist James Van Fleet says, “Ports should soon be reopened and shared footage of the teams already cleaning up CocoCay”.
