2/16/2023 – CELEBRITY CRUISE LINES has become the first cruise line EVER to be awarded Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards. This is the first time in its history that the FTG has awarded Ocean Cruise Lines, with five of Celebrity’s fleets, earning recognition: Celebrity Apex, Celebrity Flora, Celebrity Millennium, Celebrity Edge, and Celebrity Summit. Less than 20 other properties with more than 1,000 rooms have ever received the awards. It is truly an impressive feat by Celebrity. President and CEO of Celebrity Cruises Lisa Lutoff-Perlo said of the Awards, “It’s confirmation that with our resorts at sea, our guests truly sail on the world’s best places to the world’s best places.” Learn more.
2/16/2023 – Steel cutting for Second Icon Class Ship after Icon of the Seas’ debut voyage next year sold out in a matter of hours, it’s pretty clear cruisers are hyped for Royal Caribbean’s Icon Class fleet. Good news for those sailors, as the steel cutting ceremony for Royal’s yet-to-be-named second Icon Class ship, took place in Finland yesterday. This is the first of four major steps in cruise ship construction and puts it on track for its first voyage in 2025. Icon of the Seas will of course become the largest cruise ship in the world, with its 20 decks, 23 food venues, 8 neighborhoods, and 7 pools.
