Historic flooding in the departure port city of FT. LAUDERDALE has caused the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to close Wednesday. And is set to reopen Friday at 5 am. The city received 26 inches of rain in the last 24 hours in what has been described by weather experts as a once-in-a-thousand-years type storm. As for its impact on cruises, only Royal’s Liberty of the Seas is set to depart tomorrow, and Royal has not changed any plans yet. Local and cruise authorities are advising people to stay in touch with their airlines and cruise lines for news regarding any possible postponements or cancellations. Learn more.
