6/1/2023 – Yesterday, MSC celebrated a milestone in the construction of World America as they held its Coin Ceremony in Chantiers de l’Atlantique, France. Coin ceremonies take place early in the construction process of a ship as a way of wishing good fortune on the vessel. World America will be the second World Class ship, following World Europa, and is expected to begin sailings from Miami in April 2025. As we discussed in the news last week, MSC’s Euribia completed the first-ever net-zero emissions cruise, and World America will join it as a leader in energy efficiency and environmental friendliness.
