7/13/2023 – MSC’s private island, Ocean Cay Marine Reserve, has been designated as a “Hope Spot” by Mission Blue, a non-profit organization dedicated to ocean protection and conservation awareness. This recognition marks Ocean Cay as the 154th Hope Spot worldwide, highlighting its crucial role in preserving ocean health. Since 2015, the MSC Foundation has collaborated with the Bahamian government and universities to plant over 80,000 native trees and indigenous plants on the island. Additionally, they have launched the Super Coral Programme, which focuses on restoring coral reefs surrounding the island. URComped gives MSC a big congratulations on earning the status as we all work towards a healthy planet.

The Ocean Cay Marine Reserve will undergo renovations next year from April 7 to May 22. During this period, the island will be closed. If you have planned to sail with MSC during this time, please ensure to check for any itinerary changes that may have been made.
