Pala Casino Spa Resort Resurrects Live Entertainment in San Diego

One of the biggest disappointments of the COVID-19 Pandemic has been the loss of summer concerts. Due to social distancing, many venues were forced to shut their doors and artists had to cancel their touring plans–however, not all is lost! Thanks to the Pala Casino Spa Resort, live music and entertainment can still be enjoyed! Located in North County San Diego, the Pala Casino Spa Resort has become the place to relax, place some bets, and take in actual live entertainment at their outdoor Starlight Theater.

Pala Casino Spa Resort’s concert series truly features something for everyone’s musical tastes. September 2020 kicks off on the 4th with two performances of “Cash, Killer, and the King.” This rock-and-roll tribute show celebrates some of the biggest names to come out of Memphis, Tennessee–Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and the one and only Elvis Presley! With all of the raw energy, passion, and soul of these three legends, you will find yourself “Shake, Rattle, and Rollin’” all night long!

You don’t need to be a country music fan to swoon over the Swon Brothers! After placing third on the 4th season of The Voice, this pair from Oklahoma landed a record contract and released their Top 15 single “Later On.” The duo teamed up with country superstar and fellow Oklahoman, Carrie Underwood, on their song “This Side of Heaven.” Underwood hired them as her opening act and introduced the pair to thousands of fans.. The Swon Brothers’ modern country style is a nod to the Eagles–and they are sure to perform one of the best shows you’ve ever seen!

For classic rock fans reminiscing about how great music sounded on vinyl, War will fill the void when the band takes to the outdoor Starlight Theater on September 19th. This American rock-funk band will light up the stage with their catchy anthems. Try and stop yourself from chiming in as they begin their 1975 hit “Why Can’t We Be Friends” or their number one smash “Low Rider.” Just know, it’s okay to sing along with the “ba-ba-pa-pa-bup-pa-ba” of the saxophone as the band blares its signature tune! This Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-nominated band is sure to keep the party hopping all night long!

September winds down with the Latin sounds of La Septima Banda, and the hard-rocking, headbanging sounds of the Boston tribute band “Don’t Look Back.” Rocktober kicks off with the double feature of the Led Zeppelin tribute band “Led Zepagain” and the Doors tribute band “Strange Days.”

All of the Starlight Theater’s concerts are 21 and older, and tickets can be purchased at the Pala Casino Spa Resort Box Office, etix.com, or by calling 1-800-585-3737. When Stace is not in the casino trying to finally get her first hand pay, you will find her at work as a Housing Counselor or in class, pursing her doctorate in strategic leadership. She is a music trivia ringer, having spent 30 years as a morning radio personality, and mom to 17 and glam-ma to 28 and counting (yes, really!). Her favorite ports (so far) are St Maarten and Ketchikan.
